Use the recipe below on mornings when you want to be reminded of your time at our charming bed and breakfast. John Rutledge House Inn's Stuffed French Toast Ingredients: Filling ¼ cup Greek Yogurt 2 Tbsp honey ¼ cup whipped cream cheese ½ cup strawberry preserves 1 cup fresh cut strawberries Toast 6-8 slices of Ashley Bakery Cinnamon Brioche 1 ½ cups whole milk 4 large eggs 1/8 ground nutmeg 1/8 ground cinnamon 2 tbsp butter 1/8 vanilla extract 2 tbsp cooking oil Preparation:
- Cut Bread into 1-inch thick pieces.
- Combine yogurt, honey, and cream cheese.
- Whisk together milk, eggs, nutmeg, cinnamon
vanilla; pour into large shallow dish.and - Preheat large sauté pan on medium heat 2-3 minutes.
- Place bread in egg mixture; soak 20 seconds, turning occasionally.
- Place butter and oil in the pan, then place bread in pan; cook 2-3 minutes on the first side or until golden.
- Turn bread over. Squeeze 2 tbsps cream cheese mixture over two slices and 2 tbsp preserves and strawberries over the two slices.
- Cook 1-2 minutes or until golden.
- Assemble bread making a sandwich with one slice of each; remove from pan and cover to keep warm.
- Repeat with remaining bread.
