- Travel on I-26 to the end (Meeting Street Exit).
- Turn right onto Meeting Street.

From Charleston International Airport
- From Charleston International Airport, take International Blvd. to I-526 East (toward Mount Pleasant) to I-26 East to Charleston.
- Travel on I-26 to the end (Meeting Street Exit).
- Turn right onto Meeting Street.
- Follow Meeting Street for approximately 2 miles.
- Turn right onto Broad Street.
- Stay straight through one traffic light (King Street).

From Highway 17, traveling North
-Cross the Ashley River Bridge into Downtown Historic District.
-At the foot of the bridge, bear right onto Lockwood Drive South.
- Stay straight through two traffic lights, passing the City Marina.
-Follow Lockwood around an almost 90* curve to the left.
-This has become Broad Street.
-Stay straight for approximately 6 blocks.
- The John Rutledge House Inn is 116 Broad, on the left.

From Highway 17, traveling South
- Travel 17-S across the Cooper River Bridge into Charleston.
- Take Meeting Street Exit.
- At the traffic light, turn left onto Meeting Street.
- Follow Meeting Street approximately 2 miles.
- Turn right onto to Broad Street.
- Stay straight through one traffic light (King Street).
- John Rutledge House Inn is the 4th building on the right.
